The CorDapp template is pre-configured to create a Corda cluster with five virtual nodes: Alice, Bob, Charlie, Dave, and a notary Corda’s uniqueness consensus service. The notary’s primary role is to prevent double-spends by ensuring each transaction contains only unique unconsumed input states. . This configuration can be changed by modifying the config/static-network-config.json file.

As the CorDapp template is primarily for prototyping CorDapps Corda Distributed Application. A Java (or any JVM targeting language) application built using the Corda build toolchain and CorDapp API to solve some problem that is best solved in a decentralized manner. , it uses a static version of a Corda network and so you cannot dynamically add or remove participants. To apply network changes, you must run: stopCorda, startCorda, and vNodesSetup.
